From Florida, to Tennessee, with a few stops in-between, distance could never stop the love between these two. Kéra and Karl met at work in Tampa Florida and quickly became friends. Shortly after becoming friends, Kéra left that job and the two lost touch. Four years later they reconnected over their Faith and after talking a bit they finally had their first date over coffee.

Izzy and Austin's Nashville barn wedding at Cedarmont Farm was full of personal details and uniqueness. From the beginning of our planning with them it was clear that Izzy was very creative. She showed up to our decor meeting with a beautifully illustrated journal of wedding notes and flowers she loved.
The ceremony was short and sweet set against the backdrop of Larson Floral Co's greenery circle arch in the tiered ceremony area at Cedarmont. As individuals, and as a couple, they hate being the center of attention, so they told their close friend who was officiating "just do something simple and generic". He surprised them with a short but incredibly personal, touching, and beautifully written ceremony that had everyone fighting back tears. After the intimate ceremony, guests headed to cocktail hour then on to the reception in the event barn. The decor was boho and earthy with lots of greenery and botanicals. Izzy handmade the seating chart cards, with flowers she picked in her neighborhood, as well as the invitations and the boxes for the favors (little seed sprouting faces)! One of our favorite design aspects of the wedding was the mismatched bridesmaids dresses Izzy chose in a variety of colors and textures. The whole day was both beautifully elegant and authentic, much like Izzy and Austin. Brittany and Jeremy had planned a beautiful June wedding for 2020. They became one of the many couples that had to postpone their big day due to the global pandemic. The decision was heartbreaking and stressful but it was a beautiful moment for them as a couple as it was an occasion in which their partnership thrived. During planning meetings and countless phone calls navigating the changes to their wedding, it was apparent that Brittany energized Jeremy and he calmed her. Together they were better than they would be alone and it was inspiring to see how strong of a couple they were even when tested. They decided to push their elegant wedding a few months to September and it turned out beautiful. Their guests danced the night away and they turned lemons into lemonade with some cute pocket size hand sanitizer party favors.
We loved helping Alex & Steve plan their dream wedding. They both are hard workers and have very busy careers but they also love to have fun and wanted to throw a great party for their wedding! They also both take pride in where they come from and wanted to reflect that in their wedding day. Alex is from Mexico and Steve has Scottish roots so it was important to them to reflect both cultures in their wedding and blend it with some Southern flavor as a nod to Franklin, TN where they are creating their life together. We had so much fun helping them blend all these cultures into a beautiful day with personal touches that reflected their personalities.
This one was so much fun! We took the classic rustic barn wedding then added a couple modern twists and some botanical inspiration for a more contemporary feel. We absolutely loved the fun pattern salad plates from Southern Events so we layered them with their earthen plates and added the copper flatware and gold eucalyptus branches for a metallic accent. For the centerpieces, we chose to go minimal with florals but make it very botanical so displayed branches in the glass bottles and did mini floral arrangements inside of those glass globes which reminded us almost of their own little mini greenhouses. For the bouquet, I kept it small and simple but elegant choosing mostly neutral colored florals (dahlias, ranunculus, roses) with some dark touches and lots of eucalyptus spilling out. I added a sprig of lavender to the boutonniere so it smelled amazing. The cake also kept this botanical theme going so it was a simple semi-naked cake with layered on florals. Our photographer John Myers kept the laughs going and captured some beautiful shots on our gorgeous property. Keep scrolling to see our faves!
Happy Tuesday! We're going to try something new over here on the Cedarmont blog. Planning a wedding can be very confusing, and while at Cedarmont we can help you pick and choose your vendors, colors, and overall timeline... we're not experts on every aspect of the wedding which is why we surround ourselves with an amazing group of wedding professionals so that no questions go unanswered. If we don't know the answer, we can promise you we know someone who does. And two of those professionals are Madison and Hunter, the husband and wife team of Morgan Film Co. Aside from having their own adorable love story (they met in Kindergarten!) these two are perfect at beautifully capturing others' love stories. So today on the blog they're going to give a little insight into why wedding videography is worth the investment. Another successful afternoon tea in the books at Cedarmont! We had so much fun celebrating Valentine's Day with everyone. Sunday was a bit rainy but it was warm and cozy inside the mansion. The menu consisted of tea sandwiches, scones, and a variety of sweets (Krispie Treats, Fudge Brownies, Shortcake Cookies, Pretzel Bites and Strawberry White Chocolate Cookies). We served Earl Grey and raspberry tea and pink lemonade for the little ones. Our decor theme was vintage 50s and the whole house was decorated with over 15 fresh flower arrangements, and paper heart garlands and our servers wore red and white vintage dresses.
Oh, Valentine's Day... It's funny to me the reactions this day can have. I feel like people either love it or hate it. I've always kind of liked it. Even when I've been single it's been fun to get some girl friends together and go see a chick flick or have a night in with some wine. And when I've been in a relationship I've never minded an excuse to shower my honey with some extra love and get some in return. I think the key to Valentine's Day is low expectations haha. That sounds bad but it's not meant to be. Valentine's Day isn't always going to mean an ABC's The Bachelor style date complete with fireworks and your favorite band serenading you. And that is NOT a bad thing, am I the only one who thinks those dates are so awkward sometimes? Keep it fun, keep it light, and just spend some extra time with someone you love! If you're like me and you got way too busy this year to plan a Valentine's date for your special someone, here's some last minute fun date ideas that don't require dinner reservations or hotel bookings... and some are even great to do with your friends! They might even be more fun than those traditional Valentine's day plans because they're low stress and most of them you can do in your PJs (or that sexy lingerie you paid way too much for and will probably only wear once but it'll be the best hour of your partner's life RIGHT?!)
